Audiovision - Gina Moore

I composed an asynchronous and abstract soundtrack without following each shifting shape, however, articulating the poetic connotation behind the change in size of the shapes, appealing to nostalgia, evoking a feeling of tranquility. In doing this, I focused on non-diegetic sound, as non-diegetic sounds don't have a direct correspondence to things seen on screen (Nosal, 2025). While I intended for the melody to flow in a similar timing to the movement of the animation, I avoided sounds that would align with the shifting of shapes.

Audiovision - AV Exercise 2.1 - Resonance Tom Waterhouse

I included two main layers in this sound composition, with several instrumental sound effect layers over the first main layer. The second layer acted as the diegetic sounds, materialising the objects within each scene. The first layer, the ambient track, portrayed the emotional path of the video. The chord progression and changes portrayed this pathway for the audience to follow and anticipate that the story will continue to unfold, attempting to capture and maintain their attention. The small sound effects and large bursts of sound are made specifically using the same notes from the chord progression, also following a musical approach.

Resilient Video - Video Poem - The Season of Yearning

The Season of Yearning approaches the ever present wave of self face value and discomfort in losing the past, subsequently, aging, in a poetic manner. I have chosen Voice/Witness in the form of a video poem produced in a Music Video, to illustrate my thoughts through poetic videography.

Evidently there is a yearn to remain youthful, an overwhelming focus on oneself rather than being selfless and a tendency to portray oneself as youthful, which has been carried across many years and increasing since the addition of social media. Classical art has a date which is unchanging, however, contrasting with ourselves, we are ever changing and aging. It is perceived as burdening and problematic, however I hope for society to accept the beauties of aging and embrace the graceful nature of change, as seasons and all of nature closely resemble our journey in life, blooming and growing.

Interactive Media - WeBloom - Interactive Web Browser Game

weBloom, a mini plant nursery, is a web browser game, utilising the drag and click actions. The name of my mini game correlates with the themes of selflessness and blooming and growing collectively, signifying how our fruitful words and actions benefit those around us, therefore we all grow.

The game itself centres around the theme of growth. In terms of the interaction features, clicking the Watering Can waters the plant, which changes the pot from empty, to a fully grown plant. For the drag action, the user is able to drag the pot to a spot on the shelf to decorate the shop. As my chosen context is a game, the focus is on how these interactions guide the user towards decorating the shop. Clicking the Watering Can button produces a desired outcome, a plant in the pot to decorate the room, therefore the user is inclined to add another plant to the room. The user will then rely on two buttons, adding another plant and watering the plant.
